Len York, founder of York+Company, specializes in helping stakeholders maintain the integrity of their investments in companies challenged by changing markets, uneven management, lack of planning, and other issues. As a corporate turnaround expert, he leads troubled businesses through restructuring toward eventual solvency.
During his most recent turnaround, Len reworked the business strategy of an over-leveraged wholesale propane business to trim personnel and assets while generating working capital and maintaining critical supplies.
Prior to founding York+Company, Len was a principal in the turnaround firm of Osnos & Company Inc, the oldest restructuring firm in the United States. At Osnos, he assisted clients in strategic and tactical planning and financial negotiating from disadvantaged positions. In the course of his engagements he assumed senior management roles in leading client restructurings. Turnaround assignments have included: CFO, specialty metals manufacturer; CEO/CFO, upholstered furniture manufacturer; CEO, plastic film producer; CEO, steel service center; COO, laundry products manufacturer; and CFO, plastic consumer products.
Before entering the turnaround management arena, Len held senior positions with CalComp (a commercial division of Lockheed Corp), Bush Industries Inc, TRW and Ernst & Young. He directed organizations completing IPO, M&A and reorganization activity and held a number of positions with direct P&L responsibility. Mr. York holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Alabama and completed post-graduate training at the University of Michigan. He has held directorships in both non-profit and for-profit ventures.

SANDRA JAHNS

Sandra Jahns has more than 20 years experience in marketing and senior level general management. Her industry experience ranges from heavy industrial products such as castings to infrared spectrometers; from custom designed products to commodities. She has led multifunctional teams for new product development and problem resolution. While working in the service and not-for-profit sectors, she held executive positions of Director, Vice President and President.
An example of her results oriented leadership is evidenced by her creative response to financial challenges. She initiated local sourcing of product and quality control Fuji and Kanzaki in Japan which resulted in a 50% reduction in shipping costs and delivery times. These measures helped her client gain new customers and market share. She brand labeled product from Japan, adding new products to a mature line, saving years of development and R&D dollars. In Switzerland she helped transform a floundering business unit to the most profitable unit in a two year time frame.
Ms. Jahns taught undergrad marketing and instructed professors and staff at the University of Wisconsin. She has a BBA and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin. She began post-graduate work at UW Madison and is an avid volunteer in her community and church.

JULIO L. GUARDADO

Julio Guardado has thirty years experience in high technology ranging from start-ups to multinational firms, with extensive hands-on experience in the turnaround arena as CEO and COO. The last ten years of his career have been in the semiconductor capital equipment industry.
Most recently he was CEO of Torrex, a venture financed start-up acquired by Applied Materials. Prior to joining Torrex, Mr. Guardado was CEO of STEAG RTP Systems, a $175 million German company resulting from the merger of AST Elektronik and AG Associates, a NASDAQ traded company where he was President and COO.
Mr. Guardado has held executive positions in the medical device and computer graphics peripheral industries. He has an extensive successful background in product management and development, technology transfer, strategic alliances, international business and finance. He has served on the boards of Torrex, STEAG RTP, STEAG CuTek, and Zeal Automation.
Mr. Guardado received his BS in Applied Science/Computer Science from the University of California and his MBA in Marketing and Finance from Claremont Graduate School’s Peter Druker Management Center. He is also Chairman Emeritus of SEMI’s International Strategy Symposium Committee, a member of SEMI’s International Trade Partners Committee, and a member of IEEE.

JOHN J. REVERE

John Revere brings more than 25 years of senior management experience to the turnaround arena. He has an extensive background as senior executive in manufacturing in a variety of circumstances, but most significantly has led the rebirth of companies that had lost their competitive edge.
Operating and financial expertise for small, medium, and large size organizations are Mr. Revere's forte. His focus is on operations, supply chain management, and resolving severe crisis that threatens a company's viability. Strategic development and implementation for growth are also foremost in Mr. Revere's ability to revitalize troubled businesses.
During a more recent assignment, Mr. Revere’s efforts focused on establishing supplier management offices in China for his client, resulting in 80% reduction in landed direct material cost. During this time, the company also achieved stringent quality and delivery standards. Throughout the Pacific Rim, Mr. Revere has led supplier development programs.
Mr. Revere’s experience includes senior level management positions in electronics, aerospace, chemical, and automotive manufacturing. As COO he restructured operations of a commercial electronics company to generate $60M in cash flow, $40M above plan. As CEO, he turned a failing industrial equipment manufacturer into a financially strong, competitive business. He has been lauded by past employers as the best operations manager in the US.
Mr. Revere holds an MBA in Finance and a BS in Biology from Wayne State University.
